Customer Reviews

If you decide to replace this yourself you will need:
Completely disassemble your Droid and I mean completely.
The only way to get to this glass and properly reconnect it is by removing every screw, connector, and circuit board from the back all the way to the front glass. With the right tools it is doable but very tedious.
Do NOT forget to remove the speaker grill (cloth) from the old glass. I did this and destroyed the new glass trying to remove it after installing it without it. Don't do this, you cannot remove the glass without breaking it. What a punch in the gut that was.
The proximity sensor at the top needs to be perfectly aligned or it will not work. The screen will turn off and on when it isn't supposed to. On this model it is impossible to wake the screen back up if the proximity sensor thinks it is pressed against your head. You will have to again completely disassemble your Droid to realign it if you mess this up. (I had to do it 3 times)
Take pictures as you progress so you know how to put it back together.
Not all Droids are equal. This one happened to be a refurbished Asurion unit that had a lot of glue slathered everywhere covering connectors making it even more tedious disassembling. If you are not very careful you will destroy flex cable removing the adhesives. Ruined flex cables means ruined whatever was connected to it such as the LCD.
You will get dust under the new glass, compressed air is good at blowing it out but equally as good blowing it in. Google "Poor man's clean room" if you want to temporarily turn your bathroom into a dust free environment and want no dust under your glass.
That being said, I can now completely tear down a Droid and replace the glass in less than 15 minutes. Nearly destroyed one Dorid, completely destroyed my first replacement glass learning how. So at this price it may not be a bad idea to keep a spare on hand.

This digitizer fixed my erratic/unresponsive droid touchscreen perfectly. The responsiveness, sensitivity, clarity, everything is like brand new!
A mild to moderate technical/mechanical savvy will make for better outcomes and replacing the screen is probably not something for the layperson. For most do-it-yourselfers: with a little common sense, a t5 torx screwdriver, a good quality precision phillips driver, a youtube how-to video and this isn't too bad. I still can't believe my phone is fixed for cheap! Take your time and be careful as you separate the ribbon cables.
